Writers write. Everyone else makes excuses.

  -- Jack Bickham

Ultimately you have to choose your writing over something else. It has to become a priority. Only the writer can decide what you are going to carve out of your life in order to fit this in.

Writer's Quick Tip

'Google' Your Character

Putting a "face" on your characters can make them easier to describe and write about. Some writers cut out pictures from magazines or catalogs. Or you can do an internet search for a image of your character. Google is one of the most popular search engines, so much so that "Googling" has become almost synonymous with "searching" on the Internet.  Here's how to "Google" your character:

On the main Google page select "images", then type your character's name in the search bar. Review the results and select the picture that best reflects your character. Print out two copies. Put one copy in the folder you've made for that character. Tape the second copy over your desk so you can see your character when you are writing about him or her.

You can also "Google" your setting by using a key word such as castle, hillside, river, autumn trees, etc.
